Das Team vom lightIRC Flash Webchat hat die Version 0.9.8 veröffentlicht. Die neue Version unterstützt nun u.a. SSL, man kann neue Voreinstellungen treffen und ein polnisches Sprachpaket wurde hinzugefügt.

Eine neue Version, 0.9.7, wurde von dem Flash-Webchat lightIRC veröffentlicht. Es ist die Version mit dem längsten Changelog und bringt viele Bugfixes und neue Features. Der Entwickler teilt mit, dass lightIRC direkt auf dem Weg zu Version 1.0 ist.

• Added options panel to manage some local settings. Can be disabled through showOptionsButton=no
• Added SharedObject support to store options locally. lightIRC will use your old nickname and preferences if you come back

• Param chatAreaClickOnUser has different options (select, central, query). It defines the event that should happen when you click on a nickname in front of a message in the chat area
• Fix: Old lines in the chat area get dropped if there are more than 500 messages (chat became very slow without this change on verbose channels)
• Fix: Dates were not correctly displayed in topics and whois requests
• Fix: Nickchange of your partner while having a query was not updated

Es gibt nun auf dem Triagony.NET Netzwerk seit neuem den lightIRC WebChat, welcher auf Flash basiert. Der NetAdmin brain kündigte aber auch an, dass der AJAX-WebChat Mibbit weiterhin angeboten wird. Ebenso wurde auch angekündigt, dass es seit neuem iFrame-Generatoren gebe, mit denen sowohl ein Code für den lightIRC WebChat, als auch für den Mibbit WebChat erstellt werden könne. Dieser könne dann einfach auf der Homepage eingebunden werden. Im Triagony Wiki wurde auch ein Eintrag zu den WebChats veröffentlicht. Wenn man den WebChat durch das “DirektChat”-Panel auf der Sidebar der Homepage öffnen möchte, so wird nun der Flash-Chat geöffnet.

Mibbit möchte in Zukunft Premium Widgets anbieten. Der normale Mibbit Chat und auch das kostenlose Widget für die eigene Homepage bleiben weiterhin verfügbar wie bekannt. Durch das neue Premium Widget ist es z.B. möglich die Werbung auszublenden und man kann mehr Funktionen in den Webchat einbauen lassen. Das ganze soll ab ca. $ 4 im Monat beginnen (zu einer Euro-Version ist noch nichts bekannt). Man kann mehr zu den Preisen, bzw. dem Angebot hier sehen. Das Widget soll auch u.a. noch folgende Zusatzfunktionen bieten: Höheres, bzw. unlimitieres Limit zum Uploaden von Dateien, Unterstützung für passwortverschlüsselte IRC-Channel, zusätzliche Funktionen zum Anpassen des Designs (inkl. Einrichtung von einem eigenen Hintergrundbild), eigene Icons und Smilies – und das alles werbefrei. Es soll zwei Versionen geben: Premium und Premium Plus.

Übrigens, Mibbit wird jetzt auch zwei Jahre alt – Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
